Operation Beauty is an intensive 16 week, trauma informed care, mentoring program for survivors of Child Sexual Abuse (CSA), G.I.R.L.s, that focuses on reaffirming the core values of self as it relates to inner & outer beauty, spirituality, and interconnections utilizing a curriculum that incoporates some components of the Trauma Recovery Empowerment Model-TREM.  

 

Operation Beauty was developed to engage young girls at the beginning of their healing process and to assist them with the repairing of damages caused by CSA. The program is designed to build esteem through a restorative approach by engaging in weekly enrichment groups that increases self-awareness, self-confidence, and self-worth.  

 

During the 16 weeks the G.I.R.L.s will explore themselves and discover their inner beauty that will innately transform their outer beauty as they prepare to transition into womanhood.

Operation Beauty creates a safe place for the G.I.R.L.s to express their feelings and process their emotions.  The goal is to increase their confidence and abilities to set out goals and to achieve them as fully functional member of society.  If the trauma of CSA is not processed, this could lead to deficits on academics, aid in the development of poor social skills, and most importantly impact their mental health potentially leading to substance abuse.
